I. Background This third grade is a multicultural class, students are coming from different countries, such as Italy, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Colombia, el Salvador and Argentina. Too often, students are misinformed and misguided about peer’s background and, this has been provoked some differences in the classroom that the teacher many times doesn t know how to handle it. Sharing of many cultures can become difficult especially in early ages. Children have learned from home their own culture, the culture they live with, and these children are between 8 and 9 years old, which can make the understanding of culture differences more difficult, especially when parents reinforce this attitudes toward people of different culture. The observer could identify that students speak with other students of the same race, but is evident the little friendship between students who do not share the same race. The day of the observation the students were in the social studies class, learning ab out the rural, suburban and urban region of the United States. The teacher starts reading and is interrupted by a student, that for his physical appearance and his accent seems to be of Hispanic descent, the teacher said to him: â€Å"before speaking raise your hand and then you can ask a question or make comment†.
